Fungayi is a Zimbabwean lawyer and retired Member of Parliament (“MP”) who served her constituency from 2008 to 2018. She was the first female lawyer to have been elected to the Parliament of Zimbabwe.
During the Government of National Unity between 2009 and 2013 she served as Deputy Minister for Justice & Legal Affairs and then Deputy Minister for Women Affairs, Gender & Community Development.
She is currently a Commissioner of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission and has an active interest in the good governance human rights of Zimbabweans and Africa.
